A Day on Cheung Chau

Susan took her grandpa to Cheung Chau on his birthday. By sharing the photos they took on that day, learners identify the use of suffixes in the photo captions and play riddles games focusing on suffixes -er, -or, -ist, -ian and -(r)ess.

Learners understand how to use suffixes to form words to refer to people or objects that do something. They also realise that the spelling of root words can sometimes be modified when suffixes are added.

Susan, Tom and Danny have discovered a map left by Susan's grandpa. Help them hunt for treasure by solving puzzles and problems with knowledge on vocabulary building. Complete Level 3 of the game to consolidate the concept of suffixes.

In the game, learners' awareness of affixation (suffixes) is raised by helping a bear to locate its honey pot. They have to find the right paths by choosing the correct suffixes.
