Part 1

 

Interactive Activity 1: Preparing for a Hike

You are Alan / Alice. You will participate in a Cross-country Hike organized by Tuen Mun Yen Oi Estate Youth Centre, going from Lam Tei Reservoir, in Tuen Mun, to Wong Nei Tuen Reservoir in Yuen Long, in May, 2007. Before the hike you try to think about what you will wear and bring for it. Then you are given a reminder informing you of what to wear and things to bring for the hike. Prepare for the hike accordingly.

You are Alan / Alice. Two days before the hike, the Youth Centre e-mails you a memo, informing you ways to get to the Start of the Hike. Show how you get to the Start.

Lunch is provided for you at noon. Arrangement of it is written in a notice posted on a tree in front of the lunch service site. Choose the right items for your lunch.

Speaking Activity Sheet

Extended Activity: Speaking

Students are asked to share experiences and information about an extra-curricular activity they have joined (i.e. cross-country hike). They are suggested to i) talk about what they did in the activity; ii) explain how they benefited from the activity; iii) give comments and suggestions for the activity and iv) recommend this activity to classmates if they have benefited from it.
